About

David Hutter
I am a member of the Writers’ Guild of Great Britain and represented as a screenwriter by ONE FOUR FILMS.

My satirical novella FAKE NEWS: Strange historical facts reimagined in the world of Donald Trump was named as one of the 10 best books on Donald Trump’s presidency by British newspaper The Independent.

My first two screenplays — one for a satirical movie about conspiracy theories and misinformation on social media, the other for a satirical movie that ridicules racists as well as religious beliefs — were both named as “screenplays of outstanding quality” on the Gold List at the British Independent Film Festival in 2020. A sitcom pilot I wrote was also an Official Selection at a US film festival in 2019 and a semi-finalist in a scriptwriting competition in New York that same year.

I have worked as a Ghostwriter since 2018, producing novels, memoirs and self-help books for clients from around the world. Prior to that, I worked as a Writer, Editor and Managing Editor for various London publishers for over 10 years after graduating from university with a degree in Creative Writing.

Sequoia Scripts
The name of my ghostwriting service is inspired by the Native American polymath Sequoyah, whose gigantic achievements led to the world’s largest tree — the magnificent, unshakeable sequoia — being named in his honour.

In the early 1800s, Sequoyah single-handedly created a writing system for the Cherokee language. Although unable to read or write before that, he understood the importance of the written word, and his groundbreaking idea played a key role in preserving Cherokee traditions.

Reviewers have described my work as “unique”, “wholly original”, “creative”, “educational”, “pitch-perfect”, “thought-provoking” and “incredibly strong”. And since those qualities are complemented by my passion for groundbreaking ideas in both my own writing and my clients’ books, I feel an affinity to Sequoyah’s script. Not least because I, too, understand the importance of the written word.
